Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird Opens Up About Co-Parenting Agreement with Ex-Husband in Exclusive Interview

Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird, known for her appearances on ‘Mama June: Family Crisis,’ has recently disclosed details about her custody agreement with her ex-husband, Josh Efird. The 25-year-old, who finalised her divorce with Josh in September, shares four children with him – daughters Ella Grace, aged 7, and twins Stella Renae and Sylus Ray, aged 3, as well as son Bentley Jameson, aged 4.
In an exclusive conversation with PEOPLE, Lauryn shared that she and Josh have opted for a 50/50 custody arrangement, where they alternate weeks with the children. She elaborated, stating, “With me and Josh being split now, we do 50/50 custody. So I have them one week and then he has them the other week. So usually on the weeks I don’t have the kids is usually when I run around and do all my errands, kind of feel normal.”
The couple, who had been together since high school and were married for six years, continue to film together for their reality TV show amid their divorce. Lauryn recognises the challenges of transitioning from a married couple to co-parents, expressing, “I think you’re going to obviously see us navigating the difference of we were married…and now we have to go to a co-parenting relationship.” She anticipates that viewers will witness their journey of figuring out their co-parenting dynamic on the show.
In August 2024, Lauryn filed for divorce from Josh, citing a “bona fide state of separation” since July in the settlement agreement. The former couple agreed to joint legal and physical custody of their children, with a pre-established parenting plan. Notably, both parties waived the right to request child support payments. As per the settlement, Josh had 60 days to vacate their shared Georgia residence, which Lauryn would then take possession of.
Prior to their divorce, Lauryn frequently commended Josh’s parenting skills on social media. In a June 2022 post, she expressed her gratitude towards him, referring to him as the “BEST father I’ve known” and highlighting his consistent support for their children, including Lauryn’s younger sister, Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson. Although her social media activity has decreased, Lauryn’s appreciation for Josh’s role in their children’s lives remains evident.
