Chris and Lauren Lane Unexpectedly Welcome Third Child

Chris and Lauren Lane’s family is expanding, much to their surprise. The couple, already parents to two boys, found out earlier this year that they were expecting their third child. Lauren, aged 35, humorously admits that their method of cycle tracking wasn’t foolproof. She reflects, “Needless to say, cycle tracking isn’t the most effective thing. But clearly, I’m just gonna go with the belief that it was meant to be, and this little human being is meant to be on this earth. I’m kind of glad that we didn’t have to make the decision. It was just decided for us.”
The pair, who are parents to Dutton, aged 4 soon and Baker, aged 2½, are now happily anticipating the arrival of their newest family member in November. They shared the exciting news on their social media accounts on May 29. Chris, aged 40, who will be releasing his new album, Shade Tree, on June 20, expresses his mix of emotions, saying, “It’s very exciting…But I’m exhausted just thinking about having a newborn. I’m too old for this!”
Lauren playfully disagrees, pointing out that she’s definitely not too old to handle the energetic antics of their two young boys. Despite the chaos, she muses on the possibility of having a girl this time around, hoping to balance out the high testosterone levels in the household. The couple is eagerly awaiting a gender reveal, expressing openness to both another boy and the adventure of raising a daughter.
Lauren shares the challenges of the early stages of her pregnancy, describing ongoing sickness throughout the day. However, with Chris often away on tour, she appreciates the support system she has in place with family and their boys’ nanny. She recounts how their eldest, Dutton, took to the news of a new sibling enthusiastically, sharing the news with his preschool classmates and staff. As for Baker, he seems to understand in his own way by gesturing to his own belly when discussing the baby.
The couple, who are basking in the joy of their growing family, are finding that preparing for their third child is not as daunting as expected. With the boys deciding to share a room spontaneously, Lauren notes that they already have a gender-neutral nursery set up. This simplifies their baby preparations, although they would need to add girl clothes if they were to have a daughter.
Looking ahead, Chris plans to adjust his touring schedule to be present for the birth of their third child. He aims to be with his family for most of November and December, prioritising being there in this precious time. Both Chris and Lauren are relishing the moments as a family of four, knowing that their dynamic will soon change with the arrival of their newest addition.
