Reality TV star Kristin Cavallari has made headlines recently as she disclosed her initial struggle to continue filming her upcoming reality series, ‘Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour’. The show is set to mark her return to the reality TV scene after a five-year hiatus following the conclusion of Very Cavallari back in 2020.
The much-anticipated series, ‘Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour’, is scheduled to premiere on E! on June 5. In an exclusive with PEOPLE, Cavallari opened up about her surprising decision to delve back into reality television, despite her previous assertions of steering clear from the genre. She shared, “I know I’ve said a thousand times that I would never go back to reality TV. This worked out really well for me because I was already going on a podcast tour, and so I just thought, if cameras want to come along, I’m already doing it. It just really kind of naturally fit into my life.”
During her hiatus from television, Cavallari ventured into the world of podcasts with the launch of ‘Let’s Be Honest’, which played a pivotal role in the development of her new show. The podcast tour in March spanned four cities over seven days, leading to the creation of ‘Honestly Cavallari’, which the reality star describes as her “favorite experience on a show” due to its authenticity.
Cavallari’s unwavering commitment to keeping things real almost derailed the production of the series just three days in when she felt the direction was becoming too contrived. She recounted, “I actually tried to quit the show three days into production because, and this isn’t a knock on any of the producers, but I think when there’s a lot of cooks in the kitchen, everyone gets excited…”
The 38-year-old attributed her newfound strength in standing her ground during filming to her age and experience. She highlighted the importance of authenticity in her content creation, emphasising her unwillingness to compromise on the genuineness of her interactions for the sake of the show.
As the premiere date inches closer, Cavallari reflected on the emotional rollercoaster that was the podcast tour, hinting at a more personal and intimate portrayal in ‘Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour’. She revealed plans to feature her three children, Camden, Jaxon, and Saylor, whom she shares with ex-husband Jay Cutler, in the series – a decision stemming from regret over not including them in her previous show.
