Actress Margot Robbie recently unveiled her new office space for LuckyChap Entertainment in Los Angeles to Architectural Digest. During the tour, she revealed a fascinating detail about the furniture in her office: it includes pieces used in the Barbie movie. The central hallway, serving as a pivotal area for production employees, features chairs that were originally seen in the Mattel CEO’s office in the blockbuster film.
Robbie explained that the chairs, vivid pink in the movie and used by Will Ferrell and other “Mattel execs” for boardroom scenes, had quite a unique history. After the film wrapped, Robbie, along with her interior designer Scarlett Hessian, decided to repurpose the $3,195 Saarinen armchairs to better suit their workspace. By reupholstering them with a rusty orange checkered fabric, the chairs seamlessly blended in with the office’s mid-century modern aesthetic.
In addition to the Barbie-inspired chairs, Robbie’s personal office boasts several unique features. Despite its unconventional shape, designer Scarlett Hessian cleverly maximized the space, incorporating dusty pink curtains, a standing lamp with tassels, a golden-base lamp sourced from Paris, and a large plush white couch. The overall design exudes a blend of elegance and functionality, creating a workspace that is both inspiring and comfortable for Robbie and her colleagues.
