The 48-year-old chef announced the positive update on her Instagram account, expressing her gratitude for the support she received throughout her journey.

Chung revealed that she was diagnosed with stage 4 squamous cell carcinoma tongue cancer on May 30, 2024, and explained how the aggressive nature of the tumor posed a significant challenge. Despite the difficult circumstances, she remained determined to fight the disease, undergoing extensive treatment including radiation and chemotherapy at the University of Chicago under the care of Dr. Vokes and Dr. Juloori.


In her social media post, Chung recounted the challenging journey she had been on, from the initial diagnosis to the completion of multiple rounds of treatment.
