Markwood shared his thoughts during an interview with the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review on Wednesday, May 7, revealing that he has refrained from watching the footage of his fall. The incident occurred as he was celebrating a Pirates’ go-ahead double in the seventh inning.
In a video released from the game, Markwood can be seen jumping in excitement at Andrew McCutchen’s hit before losing his balance and pitching forward over the railing. Despite initially claiming he was “alright,” Markwood admitted to the news outlet that he struggles to sleep and is experiencing significant back pain.
