Deputies fatally shot the great-grandfather of children who were tragically killed in a car crash outside a courthouse in Danville, Indiana. The incident, which occurred on Monday, May 5, involved Mark Vawter, aged 65. According to reports, Vawter was allegedly at the courthouse to confront S’Doni Pettis, the individual charged in the car crash that resulted in the deaths of his grandchildren. Eyewitnesses mentioned that at around 12:55 p.m. on the day of the incident, Vawter fired at an inmate transport van and deputies outside the courthouse. In response, two deputies fired back at Vawter, hitting him once, leading to his death at the scene.
