An alleged serial rapist who authorities claim actively sought out and assaulted at least five women in the Chicago area over the past three years has been apprehended, according to reports. Picked up at O’Hare International Airport on April 4th upon returning from a trip to his homeland of Algeria, Chakib Mansour Khodja, a 36-year-old limo driver from Chicago, now faces an array of charges, including aggravated criminal sexual assault with a weapon, aggravated criminal sexual abuse resulting in bodily harm, aggravated kidnapping, and attempted home invasion. These charges stem from the sexual assaults of multiple women between May 2022 and February 2025, as detailed in a press release from the Chicago Police Department obtained by PEOPLE magazine.

Expressing relief at the arrest, Cook County State’s Attorney Eileen O’Neill Burke asserted during a press conference on Monday, “The city is safer today. Every single woman in this city, every single man who has a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister should all be breathing a sigh of relief. This man was a violent serial predator who literally went out hunting for his victims.” Khodja, who resides in Chicago with his wife, reportedly targeted women aged 21 to 36 in a series of “horrific” attacks, as outlined by law enforcement officials. One particular incident on January 18th involved a woman being followed and subsequently assaulted by a man wielding a knife, causing significant trauma to the victim.

Chicago Police Superintendent Larry Snelling highlighted the courage of the survivors, acknowledging the lasting impact of such traumatic experiences on their lives. Video surveillance footage and DNA evidence were instrumental in linking Khodja to the assaults. Despite the arrest, authorities are urging any additional victims who have not yet come forward to share their stories. For those in need of support, the 24/7 Chicago Rape Crisis Hotline is available at (888) 293-2080.
The alleged serial rapist is currently being held in custody without bond pending his trial. As of now, his public defender has not issued any statements regarding the case. This apprehension serves as a significant development in the pursuit of justice for the victims and marks a crucial step towards ensuring the safety of the community.
Incidents of this nature underscore the importance of vigilance and community support in combating such heinous crimes. The collaborative efforts of law enforcement and the bravery of survivors play a pivotal role in bringing perpetrators to justice and preventing further harm. The consequences of such acts are far-reaching, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of victims and their loved ones.
As the legal proceedings unfold, the hope is that justice will be served, providing closure and a sense of security to those affected by these abhorrent actions. It is crucial for individuals to remain vigilant, speak out against such atrocities, and offer support to those in need. Together, we can work towards a safer and more secure society, where such crimes have no place.
The arrest of the accused serial rapist at O’Hare Airport serves as a stark reminder of the importance of continued efforts to combat sexual violence and bring perpetrators to account. Through a collective commitment to justice and support for survivors, we can strive towards a future free from fear and harm.
