In a bizarre and alarming incident, a 51-year-old Florida man, John Connaughton, has been arrested for launching bottles of urine into a local business, causing significant damage and endangering employees. According to the affidavit obtained by PEOPLE, Connaughton allegedly threw urine-filled bottles at the front door of “Doors, Moulding and More,” a business in St. Petersburg. The impact of the bottles splattered urine over various building materials, resulting in over $1,000 worth of damage. Following the incident, Connaughton attempted to flee, prompting two men to pursue him. When they caught up with Connaughton, he menacingly raised his skateboard as if to strike one of the men, as reported in the affidavit.

Eyewitnesses, including the two men and an independent observer, corroborated the threats made by Connaughton with his skateboard. Law enforcement officers from the St. Petersburg Police Department promptly apprehended Connaughton after the episode and placed him under arrest. Currently, he is in the custody of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, with a bail set at $22,500 — $10,000 for each count of aggravated assault, $2,000 for felony battery, and $500 for criminal mischief.
