Perry Greene, the former husband of Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, publicly apologized for his actions on April 4. The incident involved Perry yelling anti-Islamic remarks at three Muslim women who were praying in a mall parking lot in Alpharetta, Ga., on March 31.

During a press conference outside the women’s place of worship in Johns Creek, Ga., Perry expressed remorse for his behaviour towards the young women. He acknowledged his disrespectful treatment towards them based on their religion, stating, “I just wanted them to know that I humbly apologised to them because no one should be treated that way, and that’s not the right way for us to treat anybody.”

The Alpharetta Police were made aware of the incident on March 31 when the women, choosing to remain anonymous for safety reasons, reported being verbally harassed by a man while they were praying. The man was later identified as Perry, who was seen shouting at the women from inside a Tesla Cybertruck.

Following the incident, Perry reached out to the women’s attorney, Ali Jamal Awad, expressing his desire to apologise to the victims. Perry agreed to meet the women at the Masjid Jafar and Al-Rahmah Community Center in Johns Creek to make amends for his actions.

In a now-viral video capturing the confrontation, Perry can be seen driving a Tesla Cybertruck, demanding to know the women’s origins and making derogatory remarks about their faith. Despite the disturbing encounter, Alpharetta Police stated that no crime was technically committed and thus no criminal charges would be filed against Perry.

While the police emphasised that all speech, even offensive remarks, is protected in the community, the women involved expressed their determination to continue practicing their faith openly in the face of adversity. Despite the hateful comments directed at them, the women reaffirmed their commitment to their beliefs and identity.
