Timothée Chalamet is getting ready to make a grand appearance on “Saturday Night Live” as both the host and musical guest, and the show has amped up the excitement with a one-minute promotional video. The video, released ahead of the episode airing on January 25, featured Chalamet joking about needing help to focus on his musical performances. The camera then revealed four lookalikes of the Dune star, dressed in various iconic roles he has portrayed.

Zander Dueve, one of the Chalamet doppelgangers who appeared in both the SNL promo and an earlier lookalike contest, shared some behind-the-scenes details of the shoot. Dueve was assigned to play Bob Dylan and noted that Chalamet was particular about details, even insisting on using a wig for the character. Despite this, Dueve praised Chalamet for being relaxed and bringing positive energy to the set during their six-hour shoot in Studio 8H.
Chalamet has shown his support for the lookalike trend that started with his image, going as far as crashing a contest held in Washington Square Park. He even covered the $500 fine issued to the organiser for hosting the event without a permit. When the contest winner, Miles Mitchell, walked the red carpet at the Golden Globes, Chalamet took the time to acknowledge him personally. This friendliness extended to the SNL set, where Chalamet made an effort to connect with each of the lookalikes, including Dueve.
Dueve’s journey to the SNL set was quite sudden, with an NBC representative reaching out to him on Instagram and requiring his presence in Studio 8H within 24 hours. He had to quickly make arrangements, including calling out of work and securing a last-minute flight. Dueve was thankful for the support from his sponsor, Avenue Man, who helped facilitate his trip to New York for the shoot.
During the shoot, Chalamet took an active role not only as a performer but also in the creative process. Dueve mentioned that Chalamet was deeply involved in writing the skit they were filming. Despite Chalamet’s involvement, Dueve also praised SNL cast member Mikey Day for being accommodating and easy to work with during the shoot.
Dueve was impressed by Chalamet’s professionalism and attention to detail during the filming, noting his dedication to getting the perfect take for each scene. After working closely with Chalamet, Dueve expressed his admiration for the actor’s talent and was proud to have shared the screen with him after attending a screening of “A Complete Unknown” where he first saw Chalamet’s performance.
The experience of shooting the SNL promo was surreal for Dueve, especially with Chalamet cheering him on from behind the scenes. Despite the challenges of the last-minute arrangements, Dueve appreciated the opportunity and was grateful for the experience of working with Chalamet on such a high-profile project.
