Gigi Perez, the rising star in the music scene, recently shared insights into her career journey and future aspirations in an interview with PEOPLE. The singer-songwriter, who gained acclaim with her debut album *At the Beach, in Every Life*—released in 2025—has been exceptionally busy balancing her own concerts while touring with popular artist Noah Kahan.

Since the arrival of her first album, Perez’s trajectory has been on an upward swing. The young artist not only headlined a series of performances but also collaborated with her idol Hayley Kiyoko on the *Girls Like Girls* album. Moreover, she had the honour of opening for Kahan during his tour, where she gained invaluable experiences.

Reflecting on her time touring with Kahan, Perez fondly recalled her favourite experiences, particularly the performances at Boston’s Fenway Park. Having attended the Berklee College of Music briefly, the venue held significant nostalgia for her. “Singing ‘She Calls Me Back’ for the first time there, surrounded by the rain, was magical,” she reminisced, highlighting the special connection she felt during the performance.

Perez maintained that her bond with Kahan extends beyond mere collaboration. She expressed admiration for his artistic journey and the wisdom he has shared. “Noah has emphasised the importance of allowing life to unfold without unnecessary pressure,” Perez noted, reflecting on the struggles she faced with songwriting while touring. The intense schedule often made it hard for her to connect with her creative side, something she and Kahan discussed at length.
In an exciting announcement, Perez revealed her latest venture with Hydro Flask and Universal Music Group. The collaboration has resulted in a collection of water bottles adorned with her original doodles, an extension of the artistic vision she presented in her debut album. “Drawing became a therapeutic outlet for me during my grief, and it was a joy to expand that into this partnership,” she explained.
The collection reflects themes from her album and showcases the art she has developed since embracing this new hobby. Perez’s doodles aim to capture the essence of her musical landscape, translating her artistic expression onto a tangible product. “Every design has a story; it’s about expanding the narrative of my music through visual art,” she explained.
As Perez looks to the future, she confirmed that she is back to writing new music. “This year has been creatively fulfilling for me, a nice change after a quieter year in 2025,” she said. The artist recognised the fluctuating nature of creativity and shared that both the process and the inspiration are important to her artistry. Currently, she finds joy in exploring music by recent influences, particularly praising the work of artist Slayyyter.
Alongside her current pursuits, Perez spoke warmly about her relationship with Hayley Kiyoko, who has not only been a mentor but a source of encouragement throughout her career. “Hayley was the representation I needed growing up. Having her support makes a significant difference in what can sometimes be a lonely journey in the music business,” Perez expressed.
Looking ahead, Perez dreams of collaborating with Brandon Flowers, the lead singer of The Killers, whom she regards as one of her biggest inspirations. “That would be a surreal moment for me if the opportunity ever arises,” she declared, reflecting on the impact the band has had on her musical journey.
With the release of her Hydro Flask collaboration and her continuous growth as an artist, Gigi Perez’s future in the music industry looks bright. As she embraces her past experiences and takes inspiration from those around her, it seems that fans can expect even more remarkable creations from her in the years to come.
