Kylie Kelce, a mother of four and the wife of Philadelphia Eagles player Jason Kelce, has shared her unique experience of navigating pregnancy during peak football season. Recently, she discussed the overwhelming support from Eagles fans during her pregnancies on Mikaela Shiffrin’s podcast, “What’s the Point.” Kylie, 34, revealed that her pregnancies overlapped with Jason’s matches, adding excitement and a hint of unpredictability to their family life.

Notably, Kylie was 38 weeks pregnant with their third child, Bennett, during the 2023 Super Bowl. Given the potential risk of going into labour during the game or while travelling, she made a proactive decision to bring two obstetricians along to provide support. This thorough preparation included establishing an “emergency delivery plan” should the need arise while they were in Arizona.

Reflecting on the Super Bowl experience, Kylie explained, “My top priority is always going to be my kids and my husband.” She elucidated that family matters took precedence, despite the high stakes of the game. Jason’s participation in the Super Bowl was particularly special, as it marked his second appearance in the title match and involved playing against his brother-in-law, Travis Kelce.

With a humorous touch, Kylie recounted how the couple had previously agreed that Jason would not leave a game for the birth of their children. This decision was made during her first pregnancy in 2019, when their son, Wyatt, was due. “People were really disturbed about that,” she recalled. “I was like, ‘No. He’s catch the next one. I don’t know what to tell you.’” Such comments highlighted the distinct blend of personal choices and public scrutiny that comes with being a spouse of an NFL player.
The practicalities of attending the Super Bowl while pregnant did not deter Kylie. She described the experience as a memorable outing with her daughters and emphasised the invaluable support provided by her obstetricians, who she regarded as cherished friends. “It was a privilege… at the end of the day, it was like a fun trip with my girls,” she noted.
Kylie and Jason Kelce are proud parents to four daughters: Wyatt, aged seven; Elliotte, five; Bennett, three; and Finnley Anne, affectionately known as Finn, who is 18 months old. Fortunately, none of their children made their entrance into the world on game day, allowing Jason to remain undistracted by personal events during his professional commitments.
Recently, during an interview on the “IMO with Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson” podcast, Kylie opened up about her family dynamics and the essential role that her parents play in her life. She acknowledged their immense support, highlighting that her mother, Lisa, and father, Ed McDevitt, live nearby and assist with childcare. “We couldn’t do it without my parents,” she stated, reflecting on the importance of family in their busy lives.
Kylie further elaborated on her and Jason’s preferences regarding childcare, revealing their choice not to employ a live-in nanny. “That feels weird,” she explained, stressing their desire to be actively involved in their children’s lives. Instead, they rely heavily on family support and cherish the time spent with both sets of grandparents, reinforcing the family values they hope to instil in their children.
While Kylie acknowledged the assistance of a nanny, she highlighted the family’s commitment to remaining closely involved in their children’s upbringing. This collaborative approach underscores their shared values and a desire for a nurturing family environment, even amidst the demands of their professional lives.
As Jason prepares for his retirement from the NFL in March 2024, the Kelce family looks forward to new chapters ahead, with Kylie notably thriving within the supportive community that surrounds her. The passion of Eagles fans, combined with the love of family, creates a fulfilling life for the Kelces as they balance the challenges of sport and parenthood.
