Zach Bryan, the celebrated country music artist, has opened the doors to his newly refurbished townhouse in Manhattan, a creative venture he undertook with his wife, Samantha Leonard Bryan. In a feature published by Architectural Digest on October 12, the 30-year-old artist shared insights into the design transformation of their home, which reflects his personal history and artistic influences.

Bryan’s journey to homeownership in New York City began during his early career when he spent increased time in the vibrant city. “I’d walk through the neighbourhood, past all the brownstones, and think how beautiful it would be to own a home here and sit in the park,” he recounted. His dream eventually materialised when he discovered a historic building that resonated with him. He appreciated the character of the house, noting that “the creaky wood and the old architecture made me feel attached to it.”

For the first year of their residency, the couple lived with only the essential items, having yet to put their personal stamp on the space. It was only after this initial period that they enlisted the expertise of designer Alan Eckstein from Somerset House to metamorphose the townhouse into a true reflection of their shared vision. Eckstein described Bryan’s preference as being steeped in tradition; he is “an old-school artist who does it all himself,” and he was very clear about his desires for the home.
The couple, who wedded on December 31, 2025, aimed for a home filled with character and rich in history, which Eckstein adeptly brought to life. The design features an eclectic blend of materials, including leather, iron, copper, and white oak, all chosen to create an atmosphere that resonates with the emotive quality found in Bryan’s music. Samantha expressed appreciation for Eckstein’s ability to weave their personal histories throughout the design, stating that he incorporated themes from their lives into the space.
Central to the design are nods to Bryan’s Oklahoma upbringing, which is echoed in the dark wooden fixtures that adorn the interiors. A distinct piece—a portrait of a sailor—serves as a tribute to Bryan’s eight years of service in the U.S. Navy, a crucial chapter of his life before he embarked on his music career. This thoughtful detail illustrates the merging of his professional and personal narratives within their home.
The couple’s journey to matrimony has been well-publicised, with their nuptials occurring at the stunning Basílica de Santa María del Coro in San Sebastián, Spain. Their wedding video and subsequent social media posts showcased the couple’s joyful celebration, with Samantha revealing that her wedding dress incorporated lace from Zach’s late mother, which deeply moved him.
With their Manhattan townhouse now complete, Bryan and Samantha have created a space that embodies both their entwinement as a couple and Bryan’s artistic essence. The home is more than just a residence; it is a sanctuary of memories, cherished moments, and the legacy of their backgrounds.
As Bryan continues his successful rise in the music industry, this thoughtfully designed home serves as a reminder of his roots and the journey that has brought him to this point. As he reflected in his Architectural Digest feature, he has managed to achieve what he once envisioned—a beautiful home in New York City where he can embrace both his past and future, alongside the love of his life.
