Charlize Theron has opened up about her growing daughters, Jackson and August, and her aspiration to one day pass down her eclectic wardrobe to them. Speaking at the Veuve Clicquot’s Club Solaire VIP opening event in Venice Beach, California, the renowned actress revealed that her children are eager to dive into her stylish collection, which has been accumulating over the years. However, for the time being, access to this curated assortment is restricted.

At the event on October 1, the 51-year-old star shared with PEOPLE that her daughters, aged 14 and 12, often express their enthusiasm for her fashion choices. Theron noted, “We have a pretty good stockpile in the basement that they always talk about.” Interestingly, she recounted an experience where her daughter needed an outfit for an all-white-themed event. In this instance, Theron found herself having to deny her daughter’s request to explore her extensive collection, indicating, “No, no, no. This is not for now. For later.”

While the actress is nurturing her daughters’ interest in fashion, she also reflected on how being a mother has shaped her worldview. Theron acknowledged that raising her children in a privileged environment has heightened her awareness of the disparities faced by other young people, especially in her native South Africa.
During a recent charity event, Theron spoke passionately about her commitment to the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project, which she has championed for years. This initiative is dedicated to providing health and safety resources for children across South Africa. She stated, “I think my interest in working with young people—and especially young girls—has been part of my life before I had kids,” emphasising how motherhood has intensified her drive to support young people in need.
The actress adopted Jackson in 2012 and followed with the adoption of August in 2015. Theron highlighted that her experiences as a mother have instilled a deeper sense of responsibility within her. “When you have two young girls… if anything, it makes me realise that I want safety for every young person,” she stated thoughtfully.
She elaborated on the privilege her daughters enjoy, mentioning that this reality amplifies her desire for every child to have similar opportunities for safety and success. “I see that my kids are safe and they have a safe space and they can flourish and they can succeed, not just survive. And I want that for young people,” she added, showcasing her commitment to utilising her platform to advocate for children in need.
Beyond her concerns for children globally, Theron’s thoughts also reflect her personal journey as a mother navigating fashion and family. As she becomes more aware of her daughters’ tastes and aspirations, Theron appears eager to strike the right balance between nurturing their interests and guiding them towards understanding broader social issues.
In a world where celebrity influence can significantly impact public perspectives, Theron’s prioritisation of philanthropy alongside personal interests might inspire other parents to engage with humanitarian efforts, especially concerning youth welfare.
As she continues her journey as both a mother and an advocate, Theron’s story resonates with many, illustrating how family values can intersect with a commitment to making a difference in the lives of children worldwide. Her intentions to save her wardrobe for her daughters echo a thoughtful approach to parenting, one that is underscored by her desire to instil values of compassion, responsibility, and style in her children.
