In his caption, Williams wrote, “My yearly reminder to every Boomer: NEVER let anyone diminish us because of our age.” He explained that, at 77, he feels even more vibrant and creative than he did at 40. “I’m 77. More creative, healthier, busier, more curious — and more alive than I was at 40,” he stated. Williams attributes his vitality to a supportive partner, self-care, and a zest for life. He emphasised the importance of maintaining an adventurous spirit and discipline, believing that age should not equate to diminishing worth.

Reflecting on his age, Williams proclaimed, “We didn’t come this far to become invisible. We came this far to become unstoppable.” His words resonate with many who share similar sentiments, reinforcing the idea that life should be embraced at every stage. Williams’ positivity serves as a powerful reminder that perseverance and passion can flourish well into one’s later years.
*Happy Days*, which aired from 1974 to 1984, featured Williams alongside other stars such as Ron Howard, Henry Winkler, and Don Most. The series ran for 11 seasons, and upon its conclusion, Williams was just 35 years old. He subsequently ventured into directing, contributing his talent to a wide array of shows including *Beverly Hills, 90210*, *Melrose Place*, and *Star Trek: Deep Space Nine*, among others.
In a personal milestone, Williams married memoirist and real estate broker Sharon MaHarry in 2023. The couple’s paths crossed when MaHarry sold him a house in Ojai, California, developing a bond that would eventually lead to their marriage. Williams is currently guiding his *Happy Days* co-star Linda Purl in the off-Broadway production *Crazy Mama: A True Story of Love and Madness*. The show, which draws from MaHarry’s memoir detailing her mother’s mental health struggles, runs until October 18.
Discussing the project on the *Still Here Hollywood* podcast on October 5, Williams revealed that it was his idea to shape the narrative into a one-woman show. Purl plays 16 characters, while Will Huse appears as “The Blues Man,” who acts as a chorus throughout the performance. Williams noted that the production, while infusing humour, also poignantly addresses the serious nature of mental illness and the hope that can flourish despite it.
Williams has fond memories of his time on *Happy Days*, which he describes as his “big break.” He considers that experience as more than just an acting stint; it equipped him with essential skills that have benefitted him across various roles in the entertainment industry. He attributes much of this to the show’s creator, Garry Marshall, who fostered an environment of growth and mentorship among the cast.
Marshall, who passed away in 2016, was known for his dedication to nurturing young talent. Williams recalls a pivotal moment when Marshall remarked to the cast that while they were destined for fame, they would need to use their platform to shine a light on others. “He was our mentor, our teacher,” Williams reminisced. He compared his time on the show to “10 years of film school,” crediting Marshall for the longevity of his own career, as well as that of his colleagues Howard, Winkler, and Most.
As Williams continues to embrace his age with enthusiasm and creativity, he stands as an inspiration to many, exemplifying the notion that life can be fulfilling and vibrant at any stage. With a blend of personal reflections and professional achievements, Williams’ journey remains a testament to resilience, advocacy, and the enduring spirit of creativity.
