Rachel Weisz Is Back as Evelyn O’Connell in First Photos from “The Mummy 4”

Rachel Weisz is set to reprise her iconic role as Evelyn O’Connell in the upcoming film, The Mummy 4, marking an exciting return to the franchise for the Oscar-winning actress after more than two decades. Fans will be thrilled to see Weisz reunited with Brendan Fraser, who plays her husband, Rick O’Connell, as they embark on yet another action-packed adventure.

Recent on-set photographs taken in London showcase Weisz in character as she filmed outside the British Museum. The 56-year-old actress donned a period costume featuring a yellow polka-dot skirt, a brown cropped jacket, and a wide-brimmed hat. In the snaps, she was also seen carrying a vintage leather briefcase and holding a transistor radio, highlighting her character’s bookish yet adventurous spirit.

Weisz’s last portrayal of Evelyn O’Connell was in 2001’s The Mummy Returns. Although she opted out of the third installment, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, in 2008, where Maria Bello took over her role, she is now back as the beloved librarian-turned-adventurer. This reunion with Fraser comes nearly 25 years after their first appearance together in the original film.

The Mummy initially hit theatres in 1999, introducing audiences to Evelyn O’Connell—a passionate Egyptologist whose fascination with ancient history leads her and her brother, Jonathan Carnahan, played by John Hannah, into the fabled Egyptian city of Hamunaptra. For the fourth film, The Mummy 4, the O’Connell family is officially reunited, with the returning cast set to include John Hannah as Jonathan and Oded Fehr as Ardeth Bay, alongside Kevin J. O’Connor, who reprises his role as Beni Gabor from the original movie. New faces joining the cast are Michael Johnston and Numan Acar, although specific details about their characters remain undisclosed.
