In the realm of social media, few things resonate as deeply as the bond between humans and their pets. Olivia Lamper, a 23-year-old content creator from New Hampshire, is one such individual who has turned this connection into a viral phenomenon. Through her engaging videos featuring her playful tabby cat, Finn, she has amassed a following that celebrates the quirks and antics of furry companions.

Finn, who was adopted from a local SPCA at the age of three months, quickly won Lamper’s heart with his friendly disposition and boundless energy. “He was so playful and friendly and wouldn’t stop purring,” Lamper recalls, recalling the moment she met Finn. After an initial hesitation, she couldn’t shake the thought of him and returned two days later to adopt him. “He’s now our handsome 1-year-old tabby boy, and while he loves to play, he’s also a huge cuddle bug,” she explains.

As Finn grew, so did Lamper’s desire to share his playful personality with others. Capturing Finn’s antics became a regular pastime for Lamper, leading her to consider a more extensive online presence. “I thought it would be amazing if I could earn money doing something I already loved while spending time with my cats,” she said.
Now, as a full-time employee balancing a content creation career, Lamper reveals that her earnings from brand partnerships can fluctuate significantly. Depending on the month, she reports making anywhere from £320 to £1,070, occasionally earning over £1,000 during particularly successful months. However, the journey has not been without its challenges, with Lamper admitting that combining her job with content creation can be demanding.
“Some days are harder than others,” she says, explaining that most of her video production occurs during weekends due to her weekday commitments. Alongside the struggles of managing her time, she also faces the pressures of content creation’s competitive nature. “It can be really discouraging when a video I spent hours planning, filming, and editing ends up flopping,” she shares, emphasising the unpredictability that accompanies algorithms and audience engagement.
In response to this, Lamper has refined her approach, opting to decline unpaid opportunities to preserve her mental well-being and maintain a sustainable workflow. She acknowledges that creating and refining content takes considerable time and effort and stresses the importance of ensuring that Finn is comfortable during filming sessions. “I always have plenty of treats ready, and I work with him to make sure I’m never asking him to do something that makes him uncomfortable,” she explains.
As Lamper continues to grow her online presence, she has formed connections with a vibrant community of fellow pet owners and content creators. “I’ve met numerous other cat and dog enthusiasts online, and it’s heartwarming to know I’m not alone in the experiences I share with Finn,” she says. This sense of community has become one of the most rewarding aspects of her venture, allowing her to connect with others over their shared love for animals.
Though Finn has gained significant online fame, Lamper humourously notes that he remains blissfully unaware of his popularity. “He has no idea that almost 15 million people have watched him do silly things like try to get extra food from his automatic feeder,” she says. “What makes this enjoyable for me is capturing our everyday life together and sharing it with others.”
As Lamper continues on her content creation journey, she hopes to reach a point where she can focus solely on it full-time. For now, she remains grateful for the opportunity to document the joy Finn brings not only to her life but to a wider audience that appreciates their adventures together. “It’s been a fantastic journey so far, and I can’t wait to see where it takes us next,” she concludes, looking toward the future with optimism.
