‘Pioneer Woman’ Ree Drummond’s Son Jamar Arrested, Facing Drug and Assault Charges

Jamar Goff, the foster son of popular television personality Ree Drummond, has been arrested on a series of serious charges. The arrest occurred on September 16 in Jefferson County, Alabama, where Goff was taken into custody and subsequently booked at the local jail.

According to arrest records reviewed by PEOPLE, Goff, aged 23, faces multiple charges including unlawful possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, attempting to evade a police officer, and aggravated assault. It is reported that Goff was in possession of methamphetamine at the time of his arrest. He is currently being held on a bond set at $37,000.

Drummond, known for her roles on the Food Network and her successful Pioneer Woman brand, took Goff into her care as a foster son in 2018. In her memoir, *Frontier Follies*, Drummond elaborated on her decision to foster Goff, explaining that it was not a path she and her husband, Ladd, had originally sought. Their journey began when Goff became acquainted with Drummond’s family through her sons, Bryce and Todd, with whom he played football. This connection deepened when he suffered a serious injury in an ATV accident on their property.

In her book, Drummond recounted how Goff arrived at their home one day ready to move in, stating, “All six foot five inches of him showed up at our house one afternoon, bag in hand, ready to move in.” She described the circumstances that led to fostering him as compelling enough to warrant their decisive action.

Goff’s injury on the ATV required extensive medical attention, including a skin graft and tendon repair surgery, which rendered him bedridden for over six weeks. This experience brought him closer to the Drummond family and marked a significant moment in their relationship. Following his rehabilitation, Goff began playing college football for the University of Central Oklahoma Broncos in 2021.
