A physical education teacher from Sydney has been suspended following her arrest in connection with an alleged murder conspiracy. Ashleigh Ann Seeney, aged 28, was taken into custody by New South Wales Police on Tuesday, September 22, and faces serious charges including conspiracy to murder and involvement in a criminal organisation.

The police investigation, led by Taskforce Falcon, has revealed that Seeney reportedly conspired with two teenagers, aged 18 and 19, in a plot that resulted in a fatal shooting incident. The target, identified as Josh McDonald, a 40-year-old man with no known links to the Haouchar crime family, was allegedly shot due to a case of mistaken identity. The incident occurred outside a property in Merrylands West, a suburb located in western Sydney, on September 2.
CCTV footage reviewed by authorities reportedly captured the moment when a vehicle approached the scene, and a gunman fired multiple shots from the rear window. Investigators believe that McDonald was wrongly identified and was not the intended target.
Police allege that Seeney was in “constant contact” with the teenage suspects, providing them with crucial information regarding police activities. Furthermore, she is accused of assisting them in evading arrest after they fled the crime scene. Reports indicate that she left the area shortly after the teenagers were apprehended on September 11.
Initially charged as an accessory after the fact to McDonald’s murder, Seeney was granted bail on those charges. However, the police later arrested her again on September 22, imposing the additional charges of conspiracy to murder, participating in a criminal group, and failing to disclose the identity of a driver or passenger involved in the crime.
Following her arrest, the New South Wales Department of Education promptly responded by suspending Seeney from her role at Airds High School.
