A 23-year-old social media influencer, Carson Dean Barry, has been arrested on multiple charges related to child sexual exploitation. His arrest took place on September 10, following an investigation initiated after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) received a report concerning his alleged activities.

Barry faces serious allegations, including five counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and one count of criminal solicitation of a minor. According to officials, he is accused of soliciting sexual acts from a minor and possessing digital materials that depict child sexual abuse.
In the course of a search of Barry’s residence, investigators recovered a computer tower and two mobile phones. The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with Homeland Security and the state internet crimes task force, has been actively involved in the case. Notably, one of the devices reportedly contained a disturbing video lasting approximately 12 seconds, which shows an adult man assaulting a female child believed to be between the ages of two and four.
Following his arrest, Barry was taken to the Charleston County Jail. His bond was set at a staggering £1 million, but he was released three days later, on September 13. Court records indicate that his release came with strict conditions prohibiting him from making any form of contact with the victim, either directly or indirectly through third parties.
Barry is scheduled to make his first court appearance on 30 October. Should he be found guilty of the charges against him, he could face a maximum sentence of ten years in prison for each count, leading to a potential total of 60 years behind bars.
Prior to his arrest, Barry had built a considerable following on social media, amassing over 423,000 followers on TikTok and around 148,000 on Instagram.
