Reports indicate that investigators are examining the possibility of drug-related activities in connection with Panettiere’s death. A source revealed to PEOPLE that the DEA was specifically involved in seeking evidence related to illicit narcotics at her home, after the agency obtained a warrant to facilitate the search. Panettiere was discovered unresponsive around 1:50 p.m. local time in Greenville, South Carolina. Following the emergency call, officials discussed a potential overdose and cardiac arrest in dispatch audio that surfaced.
