A 65-year-old man, Abraham Rafael Pedroza-Garcia, has been extradited to the United States after living as a fugitive for over 25 years. He was wanted for the murder of his former girlfriend, Maria Cruz-Galvan, alongside the stabbing of her partner, Sergio Covarrubias, in their Phoenix home in April 2000.

Pedroza-Garcia was arrested by Mexican authorities in May 2023 and subsequently returned to Arizona on September 11, 2023, as confirmed by a press release from the U.S. Marshals Service.
