At the recent premiere for the second season of “MobLand,” Pierce Brosnan took the opportunity to dispel recent rumours regarding tensions on set. Speaking to the Press Association in London on 10 September 2026, Brosnan characterised the reports as mere “storm in a teacup” and expressed his admiration for co-star Tom Hardy.

“I love the dude. I love Tom Hardy,” Brosnan, 73, stated emphatically. His comments come amid reports that suggested Hardy’s participation in future seasons of the crime drama could be uncertain due to alleged clashes with the production team. However, these claims seemed to be unfounded, as it was later confirmed that Hardy, alongside Brosnan and actress Helen Mirren, would return for a third season following its renewal by Paramount+ on 3 September.

Brosnan continued to focus on the team’s camaraderie, asserting, “We are rock solid as a company, as a family,” during the premiere. He explained that the high-paced nature of filming did not lend itself to much socialising outside of work. “Everyone shows up for work, and everybody’s just there on the spot. It moves very fast so it’s not like we go out and socialise and go to the pub or anything,” he added. Instead, cast members tend to return to their families after filming.

The second season of “MobLand” is set to air on 18 September and follows the Harrigan family—portrayed by Brosnan and Mirren as matriarch Maeve and patriarch Conrad—as they navigate threats to their criminal empire. The story escalates as Hardy’s character, Harry da Souza, who serves as the family’s fixer, finds himself precariously balancing increasing familial tensions and external rival threats.
Further affirming the collaborative spirit of the cast, Mirren, 81, publicly supported Hardy, 48, amid the speculation. In a heartfelt Instagram post shared in May, Mirren expressed her affection for Hardy, stating, “Love you now and always.” In an interview with Variety, she remarked that she would “absolutely” work with him again in the future, highlighting her respect for different actor processes.
“Different actors have different processes. I’ve learned over the years that some people get to things faster. As long as what’s on the screen is fantastic, I’m totally chilled with however someone gets there,” Mirren emphasised, commending Hardy’s unique talents. Her statements were met with gratitude by Hardy, who affectionately remarked, “Oh, bless her. I love Helen. She’s my friend.”
In the face of various reports and rumours, the cast of “MobLand” appears united, with both Brosnan and Mirren advocating for a positive working environment. As the excitement builds for the launch of the new season, fans may now rest assured that the main cast members are dedicated to the project and to each other.
