“Now You See Me Live” follows on from successful runs in Australia, Singapore, and London’s West End, marking an eagerly anticipated arrival in New York City. The show will run until January 3, offering theatre-goers a unique blend of illusion and theatre during the holiday period.

The original films, which introduced audiences to the Four Horsemen — a group of master illusionists — featured actors Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, and Dave Franco. However, Broadway audiences will see a fresh line-up of world-class magicians taking centre stage. South African escapologist Gabriella Lester, British illusionist James More, Canadian magician Darcy Oake, and British mentalist Matthew Pomeroy will assume the roles of the iconic Four Horsemen, performing illusions and heists reminiscent of those in the films.
The live show is constructed to be an immersive experience, featuring high-tech illusions, impressive stunts, and large-scale spectacles. Designed specifically for the theatre, the production showcases the extraordinary talents of its cast in a way that is unique to the live format.
The “Now You See Me” film franchise first hit screens in 2013, captivating audiences with its combination of suspense and magic. The original film follows a group of gifted magicians whose elaborate performances are not just spectacles, but also daring heists that attract the attention of law enforcement. The sequel, “Now You See Me 2,” released in 2016, continued the story, while the latest installment, “Now You See Me: Now You Don’t,” released in November 2025, reunited the original cast alongside a new generation of illusionists.
Over the years, the franchise has proved incredibly successful, amassing over $933 million globally at the box office. Producer Tim Lawson expressed his excitement for the Broadway premiere, stating that it is a thrilling development for the franchise and an opportunity for fans of the original films to experience the magic in a new way.
Co-creator and creative producer Simon Painter emphasised that the stage show will elevate the illusions even further than the films. He notes, “Now You See Me Live pushes the boundaries of stage magic to the absolute edge, making the impossible possible in front of your very eyes.” Painter, alongside Lionsgate, has crafted a spectacle that showcases mind-blowing artistry at an epic scale.
Jenefer Brown from Lionsgate highlighted how the production allows fans to engage with the signature elements of the films in a new format. “Audiences will experience the showmanship, spectacle, and skill that captivated them in the movies,” she said, adding to the anticipation surrounding the live performance.
The show follows a sold-out run at London’s Coliseum and will continue its global tour, with a Las Vegas engagement slated to begin at MGM Grand on October 15. The team behind “Now You See Me Live,” including producers Lawson and Painter, have a notable reputation for creating engaging performances, having previously collaborated on “The Illusionists.”
As the countdown begins for “Now You See Me Live,” excitement builds for what promises to be a captivating addition to the Broadway landscape. Tickets for this limited engagement are available now, with audiences primed to be dazzled by a unique blend of magic, illusion, and theatrical spectacle this holiday season. Don’t miss this opportunity to witness the impossible unfold live on stage.
