In a heartfelt video shared on social media, the 47-year-old star expressed her relief and joy, stating, “Guys, I got my six-month scan, MRI, and there were no signs of the tumour.” This milestone comes after Philipps had undergone two surgeries for a rare brain condition, discovered through a Prenuvo scan that she attributed to her early diagnosis.
The actress revealed last month in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE that she learned about the presence of the tumour in February following a comprehensive body MRI. She underwent her first surgery in early March, just weeks prior to the commencement of filming for her new CBS show, “Cupertino.” Fortunately, thanks to the timely detection of the tumour, her surgical team successfully removed it in its entirety, eliminating the need for chemotherapy or radiation treatment.
Philipps shared an update following her recent MRI scan, noting that while there were no indications of tumor progression, doctors did identify a sinus infection in her left sphenoid sinus. “I do have a sinus infection, which also makes sense because my left eye has been red for the past week,” she explained.
She went on to describe her ongoing struggles with her sinuses, joking that they had “been out to get me since day one.” Philipps has a history of sinus issues, having undergone surgery in 2018 to alleviate chronic problems. Looking ahead, she mentioned her intention to consult with a sinus specialist to explore possible treatments, stating, “I think I might need one of those anti-inflammation cleanses again. It really healed my sinuses, along with the surgery.”
Maintaining her quirky sense of humour, Philipps added, “This is not great. It’s painful, it looks painful, and it is painful.
