The incident reportedly unfolded on Sunday, 30th August, around 12:30 p.m., when Phoenix police responded to reports of a shooting at a business situated in a strip mall. Upon arrival, officers were informed that Mire had become irate over the cost associated with fixing her broken nail. The situation escalated sharply when she allegedly punched an employee in the face before exiting the salon.
Phoenix police officials stated that, after leaving the premises, Mire allegedly fired a single shot through the establishment’s front door, resulting in shattered glass. Fortunately, no physical injuries were reported among the approximately 18 customers and employees present in the salon at the time of the shooting.

Documents from the court reveal that Mire expressed her intention to intimidate the salon personnel into providing her with the nail repair service without charge. This alarming account highlights the extreme measures some individuals might resort to amid frustration, even over relatively minor issues such as a service fee.
The police swiftly located Mire shortly after the shooting, leading to her arrest. She now faces a series of serious charges including aggravated assault, discharging a firearm at a non-residence, and discharging a firearm within city limits. The nature of these charges reflects the severity of the incident and the potential dangers posed to the public during such actions.

Currently, both the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office and local law enforcement have set her bond at $350,000. This substantial amount signals the gravity with which authorities are treating the incident. The court proceedings related to Mire’s case are ongoing; however, as of Wednesday afternoon, there were no updates available regarding her legal representation or whether she has entered a plea.
This event serves as a stark reminder of how quickly situations can escalate when emotions run high, particularly within public spaces. The Element Nail Bar, which is now likely to review its security measures, has been at the centre of the shocking episode that has drawn considerable attention from the media and the local community.
As investigations continue, the local community remains on edge, and many are left wondering how such an incident could occur over a relatively small financial dispute. With the salon now back to its normal operations, staff and patrons alike are likely to reflect on the incident as a cautionary tale about the importance of maintaining composure in stressful situations.
