Renowned musician Richard Lloyd, a founding member and guitarist of the influential punk band Television, has recently been diagnosed with bile duct cancer, a condition that has left him unable to tour and has significantly impacted his finances. The news was disclosed by his friend Sean Seymour, who has initiated a GoFundMe campaign with the aim of raising $80,000 to assist Lloyd and his wife Sheila during this challenging period.

Lloyd, 74, has been diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma, a serious and aggressive form of bile duct cancer. The diagnosis, confirmed in March 2026, revealed the presence of tumours in his liver, one of which is perilously positioned close to a major blood vessel, making surgical intervention unsafe at this time.
