Teddi Mellencamp, former star of *The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills*, has expressed enthusiasm about resuming her fitness routines following her ongoing battle with stage 4 cancer. On August 20, Mellencamp shared a nostalgic video featuring herself engaged in a vigorous workout, set to Christina Aguilera’s empowering anthem, “Fighter”. The footage, initially posted in February 2024, highlights her melanoma scars as she enthusiastically performs jumping jacks and boxing drills.

In her Instagram Stories, the 45-year-old reflected on her former self, mentioning, “Pre-brain tumour Teddi took herself very seriously on the gram.” She revealed that she has nine months remaining of immunotherapy treatment and eagerly anticipates returning to her fitness videos, which she affectionately described as “cringe”. This hints at a lighthearted approach to her challenges, and she acknowledged that her followers likely miss her energetic posts.
Mellencamp’s health journey began with a stage 2 melanoma diagnosis in 2022, an aggressive form of skin cancer. After undergoing 17 surgeries to combat the invasive disease, she announced in April 2025 that the melanoma had spread to her brain and lungs. Following this alarming turn of events, she underwent brain surgery to remove the tumours and has since been maintaining a regimen of immunotherapy treatments.

Earlier this week, the mother of three shared insights into her monthly immunotherapy sessions, which she described as her “least favourite day of the month”. Despite the challenges, she expressed gratitude for having “all the necessities,” demonstrating her resilience even amid difficult circumstances.
In June, Mellencamp opened up about the mental toll of her diagnosis, revealing that her condition had led to significant anxiety. As she continues with her treatment plan, which includes fewer scans than before, she noted increasing feelings of nervousness. “So ever since I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, I’ve been getting immunotherapy monthly and was having CT scans and MRIs monthly,” she explained. “But this past time, they decided to wait three to four months between the tests, and this has created such a nervous, raging anxiety inside of me.”

Her candid posts also revealed that she has been experiencing episodes of emotional distress, admitting to frequent tears without warning. “I just keep crying…no warning, just tears,” she confessed. Mellencamp expressed a desire to project positivity, aspiring to emulate those who seem to maintain an upbeat outlook despite adversity. However, she candidly acknowledged her fears, saying, “I want to be positive. I wanna be like those people that say they’re positive all the time, but I’m really scared.”
The isolation that can accompany cancer treatment also weighed heavily on her. In her journey, she has sought connections with others facing similar battles but recognised that the shared experiences only resonate fully when one is undergoing the challenges themselves. “It’s also really lonely,” she noted. “I started following so many people that have or have had cancer and you read about what they’re going through. But you don’t really understand until you go through the different phases yourself.”
Mellencamp’s reflections are a poignant reminder of the emotional and psychological impact of cancer. She articulated exhaustion and empathy for others who may be feeling similarly. “I’ve just hit that point where I’m just exhausted,” she said, her emotions evident. “I realise there’s probably a lot of you out there that feel just like me. So that’s why I’m posting tonight. Not for dramatics just to tell you I love you and I’m sorry if you’re going through this.”
Through her openness, Mellencamp not only captures her personal journey but also fosters a sense of community and understanding for others navigating similar paths. With her determination to resume her fitness videos and an honest dialogue about her struggles, she continues to inspire followers while also advocating for mental health awareness during illness.
As she continues her treatment, fans are undoubtedly looking forward to seeing the resilience and vitality that have made Teddi Mellencamp a memorable figure in the realm of reality television and beyond.
