Teddi Mellencamp, a former star of *The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills*, has been candid about her ongoing struggle with cancer. The 45-year-old is currently receiving regular immunotherapy after her diagnosis of stage 4 melanoma, which has notably spread to her brain and lungs. This phase of her treatment began following the initial discovery of melanoma in 2022.

In a recent update shared through her Instagram Stories, Mellencamp provided a glimpse into what she describes as her “least favourite day of the month.” On August 19, she documented her preparation for a treatment session, capturing tender moments with her six-year-old daughter, Dove. The emotional connection between mother and daughter is evident in their embrace before Mellencamp sets off for the hospital.
Mellencamp, who also has two other children, Slate, aged 14, and Cruz, who will turn 12 on August 21, strives to maintain a positive outlook despite the challenges posed by her illness. Her posts indicate a mixture of resilience and vulnerability as she prepares her supplies for the day. This includes packing a tote with essentials such as a pillow, water, and an iPad to help keep her entertained during treatment.
“Immunotherapy day is really not high on my list of enjoyable experiences,” she remarked, noting the sarcastic tone in her description of the day. While she maintains a sense of humour, it is clear that these sessions take a toll, both physically and emotionally.
As she heads towards her treatment, Mellencamp offers insight into the medical procedure itself. In one video, she discusses the process of warming her arms to make it easier for the medical staff to find a suitable vein for the intravenous medication. “Fingers crossed it’s my left arm today,” she wishes aloud, highlighting the uncertainty that often accompanies treatment.
Diagnosed with stage 2 melanoma in 2022, Mellencamp faced a rigorous treatment regimen, undergoing 17 surgeries in a bid to combat this aggressive form of skin cancer. Her situation took a turn for the worse in April 2025 when she confirmed that the cancer had metastasised to her brain and lungs. She has since undergone brain surgery to remove multiple tumours and has been receiving regular immunotherapy sessions aimed at tackling the remaining cancer.
In October 2025, Mellencamp shared encouraging news that doctors could find “no detectable cancer.” However, she has made it clear that this does not equate to being in remission. During a January 2026 episode of her podcast, *Two T’s in a Pod*, she reaffirmed that although there were no traces of cancer present, the journey toward complete recovery remains ongoing.
This candid sharing of her experiences has garnered substantial support from fans and followers, who admire her resilience and vulnerability in the face of such a serious illness. Mellencamp’s openness about her cancer journey serves to raise awareness about the realities of living with cancer, encouraging others to remain hopeful and proactive about their health.
As she continues her battle against melanoma, Teddi Mellencamp remains a figure of strength for many. Through her social media platform, she not only chronicles her personal experiences but also offers encouragement to those in similar situations, demonstrating that while the fight against cancer can be daunting, it is one that can be faced with determination and hope.
