A 31-year-old woman from Miami, identified as Moniquie Love Turnbull, is currently embroiled in a series of criminal charges stemming from an alleged scam targeting a senior citizen. The Martin County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) has outlined multiple felonies against Turnbull, including defrauding an elderly person and introducing contraband into a corrections facility.

The incident reportedly began when Turnbull visited the home of a senior citizen, claiming to represent a bank. Authorities allege that she misled the victim by asserting that their bank account had been compromised. To support her fraudulent scheme, she offered to dispose of the victim’s bank card—a ruse designed to gain access to the senior’s finances.
Turnbull’s alleged deception was cut short when she was arrested during a traffic stop on 17 August, shortly after the reported scam took place. Deputies stopped her vehicle on a highway, which initiated the subsequent investigation into her activities.
Following her arrest, a search revealed a significant amount of cash concealed within her body. A total of £2,600 (approximately $3,200) was discovered, prompting additional charges of contraband introduction. Turnbull’s case highlights vivid concerns regarding scams directed at vulnerable populations, especially senior citizens.
As per official records, Turnbull is now facing numerous felonies, including: felony scheme to defraud, fraudulent use of a credit or debit card without consent from a victim aged 60 or over, and the aforementioned contraband charge. She is currently held in Martin County Jail under a bond set at $500,000.
