Chipotle Mexican Grill is set to engage its fans with the return of its interactive trivia game, Chipotle IQ, from the 18th to the 20th of August. The trivia game invites players to showcase their knowledge about Chipotle through multiple-choice and true-or-false questions. Participants will have the opportunity to win enticing rewards such as buy one, get one (BOGO) entrée codes, free Cilantro Lime Sauce, free Queso Blanco, and points redeemable through the Chipotle Rewards programme. The quizzes will be available hourly from 6 a.m. to 5:59 p.m. PT during the event, allowing fans to play once each day.

In an exciting twist, the first 8,000 players to answer all five questions correctly every hour will unlock a variety of rewards. With 5,000 BOGO offers, 1,500 free Cilantro Lime Sauces, and 1,500 free Queso Blanco offers up for grabs, the chances of winning are substantial.
Adding to the competitive spirit, this year’s tournament will also introduce the Silver Ticket Sweepstakes. The sweepstakes will grant 53 lucky participants the chance to win free burritos for an entire year. Contestants who score full marks in the quizzes will enter the draw, with an additional opportunity to answer a specially designed bonus question. Correct responses will secure the coveted prize of free burritos for a year.
In line with its innovative offering, Chipotle has also incorporated the concept of daily streaks into the trivia game. Players who participate for two or three consecutive days will receive bonus points and rewards badges, enhancing the overall experience. For those scoring four out of five in a quiz, there are 25 Chipotle Rewards points to be won. Notably, even those who answer all questions correctly but do not receive a food prize will still earn reward points, with 50 bonus points on offer.
Chipotle has stated that up to five million Chipotle Rewards points will be available each day throughout the event, showcasing the high stakes for eager participants. Additionally, from the 17th to the 31st of August, Chipotle Rewards members will be able to take part in a sweepstakes for a new limited-edition Chipotle IQ physical card game. To enter, members need to exchange 10 points through the brand’s Rewards Exchange programme.
The card game is designed to be enjoyed alongside friends and family while savouring Chipotle’s offerings, further enriching the communal aspect of dining. A representative from Chipotle noted that customers completed over 1.8 million Chipotle IQ quizzes last year, which is almost double the number from 2024. This highlights the growing enthusiasm surrounding the trivia game and the potential for increased engagement this year.
This event is part of Chipotle’s larger “Summer of Extras” initiative, which runs from June 1 to August 31. Chipotle Rewards members who participate will have the chance to enjoy free entrées, earn bonus points, collect badges, and engage in monthly challenges throughout the summer months. Members can also compare their rankings with others and enjoy competitive leaderboards.
As Chipotle IQ returns, the fast-casual dining chain continues to effectively blend community engagement with innovative marketing strategies, appealing to its loyal customer base while encouraging new interactions with the brand. The next few days promise to be an exciting time for Chipotle fans, with abundant opportunities to win and engage.
