The mayor of Star, Idaho, Trevor A. Chadwick, and his wife, Amber, had quite an eventful outing when they went off-roading to celebrate their wedding anniversary. Little did they know that their day would take a turn towards a rescue mission. The couple stumbled upon a man who had been stranded in the icy, snow-covered mountains for over 24 hours.

In a heartfelt Facebook post, Mayor Chadwick recounted the harrowing experience that unfolded on Friday, March 14. The stranded man’s vehicle was stuck in the snow and ice, leaving him helpless and alone. Chadwick and his wife were the only ones to come to his aid during this dire situation. The man was not only out of gas but had also run out of food, surviving on just a few chips.

The rescue mission was not an easy feat, as it took Chadwick four hours to free the man’s vehicle. Using his jack, placing wood under the tires, and employing traction boards, Chadwick managed to pull the vehicle out of its precarious position. He even went the extra mile by travelling to Iowa City to fetch an additional tow strap for the rescue operation.
