Katrina Llegado, who is also a military reservist in the Philippine Air Force, emerged victorious after impressing judges and the audience alike. During the final round, she made it to the top five alongside representatives from Brazil, the Czech Republic, France, and Nigeria. Her interview component included a poignant question regarding the moment she transitioned from trying to meet societal expectations to embracing her true self. In her response, Llegado emphasised the importance of authenticity, declaring, “I always believe that we should never fit into a mold. We are perfectly imperfect.” This genuine sentiment resonated with many and showcased her personal journey of self-discovery.

Her predecessor, Eduarda Braum from Brazil, who held the title over the previous year, crowned her successor with heartfelt congratulations. In a touching tribute posted on Instagram, the Miss Supranational organisation thanked Braum for her dedication and the impact she made during her reign, stating, “You made people believe in what it stood for. The hardest part isn’t the goodbye. It’s knowing how much you gave 💜.”
This year’s competition saw the introduction of the Fioletowa Crown, a stunning headpiece carefully crafted by Venezuelan jeweller George Wittels. This new crown features striking purple gemstones, symbolising ambition and royalty. The pageant organisation described the colour selection, noting that purple signifies a powerful statement: “It’s the shade a woman wears when she has nothing left to prove 💜.” In previous years, the Supranational Crown was designed by Mexican jeweller Ricardo Patraca, drawing inspiration from the pageant’s motto of being both inspirational and aspirational.
In the lead-up to the main event, participants took part in several preliminary rounds, including a National Costumes Extravaganza, where contestants showcased culturally significant attire representative of their respective countries. This vibrant display not only highlighted their individual heritage but also set the stage for the evening and swimsuit segments during the final competition.
The Miss Supranational pageant continues to uphold a policy that allows a diverse array of contestants. Entrants must be between the ages of 18 and 32, including single women, mothers, and divorced individuals, provided they are unmarried at the time of competition. This inclusivity has helped the pageant gain a broader global appeal.
Last year’s crown was notably won by Eduarda Braum, who hails from Afonso Cláudio in Brazil. With a background in literature and pedagogy, she has taken steps to empower future generations through her Leaders of Tomorrow project, providing motivational talks in public schools. In addition to her work as a model, influencer, and television presenter, Braum made an impact during her tenure as Miss Supranational, further enhancing the pageant’s reach and relevance.
The Miss Supranational pageant has become a platform that celebrates not just beauty but also individuality, empowerment, and cultural heritage. With a new titleholder in place, there is excitement about the directions and initiatives that Llegado will pursue during her reign. As she embarks on this journey, both she and her predecessors inspire young women around the world to discover their strengths and share them boldly with the global community.
Katrina Llegado’s coronation adds another remarkable chapter to the history of Miss Supranational and exemplifies the blend of beauty with purpose that the pageant strives to achieve.
