Sam Rockwell’s ‘White Lotus’ Casting Was ‘Last Minute’ After Helping Leslie Bibb with Her Audition

Leslie Bibb has Sam Rockwell to thank for landing her role in The White Lotus season 3, so it was really only fair that he got to be part of the show, too. During an appearance on CBS Mornings, Bibb shared with Gayle King the story behind Rockwell’s involvement in the latest episode of the hit show.

With the audition deadline fast approaching, Bibb enlisted Rockwell as her scene partner, and Messina recorded the audition on his iPhone. This collaborative effort resulted in a standout audition tape that ultimately landed Bibb the role.
Despite being a last-minute addition to the cast, Rockwell’s portrayal of Frank in the show left a lasting impact on Bibb. She described a particular scene in the series as groundbreaking television, praising Rockwell for his unapologetic portrayal of truth.
