**Love Island USA Winners Share Post-Villa Life Insights**

Trinity Tatum, 22, and Bryce Alakai, 30, who recently emerged as winners from the eighth season of Love Island USA, have opened up about their experiences living in the villa. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the couple expressed relief at returning to their personal space after weeks in a crowded environment while filming in Fiji.
Bryce reminisced about the challenges of sharing a communal bedroom, explaining, “At one point there were 19 people in there.” He described the cramped conditions, with some contestants even resorting to sleeping on couches. “Carl [Schmidt’s] big frame was laid on the couch. It felt like we were in barracks,” he added. Trinity echoed this sentiment, noting, “It felt like we were at basic training sleeping with everybody, waking up at a certain time.”
Cooking was another source of entertainment and camaraderie among contestants, but Bryce is relieved that he no longer has to share kitchen duties with multiple people. “I always asserted my dominance and claimed the biggest pan in the middle,” he said. His confidence in the kitchen became evident as he cooked meals for others, showcasing his culinary skills throughout their time in the villa.
The couple shared a light-hearted moment, with Trinity joking that Bryce’s cooking, particularly his bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches, played a significant role in their coupling. “He makes the best bacon, egg and cheese,” she stated, playfully adding, “However, he cooks bacon with butter—trying to give me high cholesterol!” Despite her initial hesitation, she admitted that his cooking exceeded her expectations, noting, “He would always bring me my food early. I never was last.”
Prior to their entry into the villa, both Bryce and Trinity were contacted through Instagram. Bryce recounted the surprising advice they received just before departure, “Don’t pack for a trip. Pack to move.” He explained that he brought along everything he could think of, leading to an amusing situation where contestants found themselves sharing outfits due to a lack of variety. Trinity, on the other hand, stated, “Two weeks before the show, I bought so many bathing suits and outfits. I was eager to be prepared and didn’t want to look a mess,” and added that she even packed a suitcase full of heels.
Their relationship blossomed almost immediately, as they coupled up on the first day in the villa. Over the weeks, their connection transitioned from friendship to romance. Trinity candidly admitted, “I didn’t expect us to win, genuinely,” thinking that another couple would take the title. The moment they were announced as winners by host Ariana Madix during the finale left her in shock: “I was like, ‘Oh my gosh,’” she recalled.
In the wake of their victory, the couple has been adapting to life back in the United States, which presents a stark contrast to their experiences in the villa. A significant decision looms ahead for Trinity, as she considers relocating from her hometown of Newport News, Virginia, to Los Angeles. Given that Bryce has established his career there over the past decade as a model, actor, and DJ, Trinity is keen to avoid a long-distance relationship. “It’s very likely,” she affirmed. “I really just want to be where he is.”
