**Tragic Loss of U.S. Soldiers Revealed in Jordan and Iraq Incidents**

Sgt. Rampersad was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 57th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, part of the 52nd Air Defense Artillery Brigade, and was stationed at the 10th Army Air & Missile Defense Command in Germany. Her dedication and service to her country were acknowledged by New York Governor Kathy Hochul, who expressed her condolences and highlighted the profound loss felt by the community. “Tonight, New York mourns the loss of one of our own,” Hochul stated, offering prayers for Rampersad’s family, loved ones, and fellow soldiers.

Swinton, who served in D Battery, 2nd Battalion, 55th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, based at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. His family has shared heartfelt remembrances, underscoring his dedication not only to his country but also to his family, which includes a wife and two young children.

Christel Swinton Andujar, Michael’s mother, told local news channel WRAL that he was deeply connected to his family. “He loved his job, he loved his country, and he loved the leadership in this country,” she conveyed, adding that his family was always at the centre of his decisions and sacrifices.

In a somber tribute shared on social media, Michael’s wife, Mia Gonzalez-Swinton, expressed her shock and grief following the tragic news of his death. Posting a poignant photograph of Michael with their daughter just before his deployment, she conveyed the profound impact of his loss on their family. “I didn’t think this would be the last time I ever saw you,” she wrote, struggling to process the sudden change in her life.
