The couple opted for a soft colour palette that featured shades of cream, white, taupe, along with lush greenery and candlelight to enhance the scenic backdrop. To ensure the decoration truly embodied their vision, they took the initiative to design many statement pieces themselves, giving birth to their high-end bar and cart business, The Cart Haus.
With a limited timeframe of just four months to prepare for their wedding, Mesquita faced the challenge of sourcing her dress. She found the perfect ensemble at Savvy Bridal in Fort Lauderdale, selecting a timeless and elegant gown off the rack, along with a fun sequined dress for the reception. “It ended up being one of the biggest blessings of the entire planning process,” she reflected, realising that simplicity allowed her to focus on the feeling each dress gave her.
Deckert, for his part, opted for a striking blue suit for the occasion, while hair and makeup were professionally handled by leading stylists from Miami. The couple’s commitment to avoiding superstition on their big day led them to share heartfelt handwritten vows, complemented by traditional vows, while honouring their faith with a prayer during the ceremony, officiated by Deckert’s lifelong friend.
As the celebrations transitioned to the reception, guests enjoyed a buffet-style meal, featuring delectable dishes sourced from local Florida cuisine. The menu included churrasco steak, grilled shrimp, and blackened grouper, culminating in sweet treats such as mini Key lime pies. Deckert and Mesquita shared their first dance to “All of Me” by John Legend, as the evening unfolded into a lively celebration of love.
In a playful turn of events, the end of the night saw many guests, including Deckert, jumping into the pool fully clothed, marking an unexpected yet joyous conclusion to the wedding festivities. The next day continued with a beach club pool party aptly named “ScoJu Beach Club,” reflecting the couple’s nickname. The couple’s love story began in 2014 when they matched on Tinder, leading to an instantly blossoming relationship. Deckert proposed shortly before their son, Jaxson, was born, cementing a decade-long journey filled with love and shared experiences.
