Brandi Glanville, a former star of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” has recently revisited her experience with vaginal rejuvenation surgery, recalling her decision to undergo the procedure back in 2009. This personal revelation emerged during a recent episode of her Unfiltered podcast, where she discussed the topic while commenting on the transformative plastic surgery journey of fellow reality star Rulla Nehme Pontarelli.

During the podcast, which aired on Thursday, Glanville reflected on her own surgery, which she claims was among the first of its kind. After parting ways with ex-husband Eddie Cibrian, Glanville decided to pursue the procedure performed by Dr. David Matlock, a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon renowned for being one of the first to offer vaginal rejuvenation. With a tinge of nostalgia, Glanville asserted that her surgery marked a significant moment in her life.
Glanville’s comments followed her co-host James Maas suggesting that Pontarelli could benefit from a fresh start, echoing Glanville’s own past experience. She recounted her own decision to undergo a vaginal rejuvenation procedure, linking it to her separation from Cibrian. “I had the actual surgery, not like these days,” she stated, implying that contemporary options are more abundant and less invasive than those available over a decade ago.

Maas claimed that Glanville was a pioneer in this area, describing her as the “test patient” for vaginal rejuvenation. While accepting the compliment, Glanville clarified that she believed she was possibly the first or second person to receive the treatment from Matlock. She highlighted the changes in societal perceptions toward such procedures, noting how the landscape has evolved since her surgery.
The reality star explained her motivation for pursuing the procedure with a candid admission. “That was the only way … to be a virgin again. You know, I spit out two kids and [Cibrian] made a comment like, ‘It’s not what it used to be,’” she remarked, revealing the context behind her decision to go under the knife.
Vaginal rejuvenation is a term that encompasses various surgical and non-surgical techniques aimed at enhancing the appearance or function of the vagina, primarily targeting postmenopausal women. However, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) emphasises that “vaginal rejuvenation” is a marketing phrase rather than a medical one. They advise women to consult with qualified gynaecologists before pursuing any surgical interventions.
Glanville first opened up about her “intense” surgical procedure in her 2013 memoir, “Drinking & Tweeting.” She detailed the significant financial aspect of the surgery, which cost her a staggering £9,600 at the time, labelling it as “a brand new vagina.” The reality star shared that the motivation behind her expensive choice was a desire to reclaim her life after her painful breakup with Cibrian, declaring, “A brand new vagina would be an Eddie-free vagina.”
In her memoir, Glanville revealed that she had charged the cost of the procedure to her then-husband’s credit card. “I decided that since Eddie had ruined my vagina for me, he could pay for a new one,” she explained. She recounted an altercation that ensued when Cibrian discovered the surgery’s expense, during which he vociferously questioned the £9,600 charge. In response, she cleverly masked the truth, telling him she had undergone a nose job instead.
Brandi Glanville’s candidness regarding her experience with vaginal rejuvenation surgery continues to spark discussions surrounding the evolving landscape of cosmetic procedures and the societal expectations of women post-divorce. As more individuals become open about their personal journeys and choices in aesthetics, conversations around body positivity and empowerment remain at the forefront of public discourse.
