The Morgan Hill Police Department (MHPD) announced the arrest, confirming that they had launched an investigation into the alleged incident after receiving a report. The young girl was attending a day camp programme at the Morgan Hill Aquatic Center, which is operated by the YMCA of Silicon Valley. Upon learning of the allegations, the YMCA promptly placed Ramon on administrative leave and cooperated fully with law enforcement throughout the investigation.

Ramon has been charged with committing lewd acts upon a minor. The Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office filed these charges on the same day of his arrest. According to police reports, Ramon was taken into custody without incident and has since been remanded at the Santa Clara County Jail, where his bail has been set at $100,000.
In light of the situation, the MHPD has urged parents and guardians to have open dialogues with their children about appropriate and inappropriate touching, as well as the importance of reporting any suspected abuse. The police department’s statement emphasised the need for community vigilance when it comes to safeguarding children from potential harm.
The YMCA of Silicon Valley issued its own statement reaffirming its commitment to child safety. The organisation has a robust set of child protection policies in place, which include thorough employee screening processes, background checks, mandatory training on child abuse prevention, and strict supervision and reporting requirements. The YMCA is dedicated to creating a safe environment for the children who participate in their programmes.
The ongoing investigation invites any further information from the public, particularly those who may have witnessed or have additional knowledge regarding the incident. MHPD Detective Sergeant Sean Bayard is leading the inquiry and can be contacted directly by anyone wishing to provide information or seek clarification.
As this case unfolds, it underscores the imperative of adhering to stringent safeguarding practices in child-oriented settings, especially when working with vulnerable populations. The swift action by the YMCA and local law enforcement demonstrates the urgency of addressing such grave allegations with the seriousness they warrant.
In the wake of this distressing event, the MHPD and YMCA are both making resources available to assist individuals who might be impacted or who wish to seek help. The resources include support lines for immediate assistance to help victims of sexual abuse connect with professional crisis counselors.
As the investigation continues, the community remains in a state of concern and attentiveness to ensure the protection and well-being of its youth. The legal proceedings against Ramon will be closely monitored as they move forward in ensuring accountability and justice for the victim.
