In a surprising turn of events, Levi Banks, a contestant set to join the latest season of “Big Brother,” has opted out of the show just before filming was due to commence. Banks had been preparing to participate in “Big Brother 28,” which premiered on July 9, 2023. The inaugural episode welcomed 14 new contestants alongside a returning player and a notable figure from “Survivor.” However, Banks was noticeably absent from the line-up when the season kicked off. A representative from CBS confirmed to various media outlets that Banks had officially exited the cast prior to the start of the series.

In his video address, Banks reflected on his journey leading up to the decision. “I just wanted to give you all a quick update and let you know that I am doing great,” he stated. He indicated that as the move-in day approached, he began to realise that joining the show was not the right choice for him on a personal level. “It was probably the hardest decision of my entire life,” he added.
Despite his departure from the show, Banks assured his supporters that he remains on amicable terms with CBS, “Big Brother,” and his fellow contestants. He mentioned, “I am so, so, so thankful for this opportunity,” highlighting how transformative the experience could have been.
Banks expressed genuine excitement for the season’s premiere, stating, “I’m so freakin’ excited to watch the show tonight. It’s going to be a different POV [point of view] compared to being in the house.” His enthusiasm for the programme reflects the strong connection contestants often develop with the series and its fanbase.
Among those who will be competing this summer is Yash Patel, one of the 14 newcomers vying for the grand prize of $750,000. Notably, Angela Murray, a former contestant from “Big Brother 26,” is returning for her second season. The new season also features Rick Devens, a surprising addition from the “Survivor” franchise, and Jason De Puy, who fans of reality TV may know as Salina EsTitties from “RuPaul’s Drag Race.”
This season of “Big Brother” incorporates a unique theme centered around a “time trip,” and it will be celebrated for reaching the landmark 1,000th episode. Julie Chen Moonves continues her role as the beloved host of the series, guiding viewers through the unfolding drama and dynamics within the house.
“Big Brother” airs three times a week on CBS, with episodes available for streaming the following day on Paramount+. Fans can catch new episodes on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and can also enjoy additional insights through “Big Brother: Unlocked,” which arrives on Fridays.
As Levi Banks embarks on his next chapter in North Carolina, his supporters remain hopeful for his future endeavours while looking forward to an exciting season of “Big Brother,” packed with twists, rivalries, and alliances.
