The family of a missing U.S. Army specialist is appealing for help as they search for their loved one, Spc. Sayveon Anderson, who was last seen at Fort Bragg in North Carolina on June 29. His disappearance has left his family in distress as they struggle to understand what might have happened to him.

Pamela Anderson, Sayveon’s mother, expressed her worries, stating, “This is not like my son.” She indicated that she last heard from him on June 27, and even received a message from him on Instagram the following morning, but then lost all contact. Pamela revealed how concerning it is not to hear from him, adding, “My son will call me. He would at least text me or answer my texts.”

Following his failure to report for morning formation on June 29, Pamela said she was contacted by military authorities. Concerned for his wellbeing, she and other family members visited Sayveon’s apartment in Fayetteville but received no response. A welfare check carried out by police later confirmed that he was not inside.

Sayveon Anderson, 25, was married in December 2022 and was expecting his first child, a daughter, who was due in August. However, Pamela noted that there had been difficulties in her son’s relationship earlier this year, which had resulted in a court-issued no-contact order following an incident of domestic violence involving his wife. Although they had since reconciled, Pamela pointed out that his disappearance coincided with his wife’s request for a divorce just days before he was last seen.
Adding to the complexities surrounding his disappearance, Sayveon had been arrested at a local hotel just four days before he went missing. He was charged with second-degree trespassing and resisting arrest after refusing to leave his room when his payment was declined. This prior incident has raised questions among family and friends about his state of mind leading up to his disappearance.
Shicora Anderson, Sayveon’s sister, has voiced her frustration over the lack of information regarding her brother’s case. “We’re not getting the help that we need to find him,” she stated. She described her brother as “a young man. A young Black man in the Army trying to make it,” emphasising that his disappearance needs urgent attention.
The 3rd Corps Sustainment Command is actively collaborating with local law enforcement and the Department of the Army Criminal Investigation Division (CID) in their efforts to locate Sayveon Anderson. However, there have been no updates or comments from either agency regarding the status of the investigation thus far.
Sayveon is described as measuring approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing around 270 pounds. He has distinctive features that include a chipped front tooth and a scar on one of his arms. Family members have also pointed out a tattoo bearing his wife Jasmyne’s name.
Authorities encourage anyone who may have information about Sayveon’s whereabouts to reach out to local law enforcement, the Fort Bragg Provost Marshal’s Office at 910-396-0391, or the Army CID at 910-391-4911. Anonymous tips can also be submitted online.
As the search continues, the emotions of Sayveon’s family are running high as they hope for a swift resolution. The distress caused by his sudden disappearance has cast a heavy shadow over their lives, as they wait for updates amid a backdrop of uncertainty and concern.
