In a heartfelt revelation, influencer Nara Smith has disclosed that her two-year-old daughter, Whimsy Lou, has been diagnosed with cancer, a matter that has profoundly affected her family. Nara, 24, shared the distressing news through an Instagram video on July 1, where she explained that Whimsy’s initial diagnosis occurred “late last year.”

Nara and her husband, model Lucky Blue Smith, 28, were devastated when they learned of Whimsy’s condition. At the time of her diagnosis, they were informed that the cancer had already spread. The specific type of cancer that Whimsy is battling has not been disclosed, nor is the current status of her treatment.

In her emotional video, Nara recounted the moments leading up to Whimsy’s diagnosis. “When we saw something suspicious on her, we took her to the ER and they didn’t quite know what to make of it,” she explained. The situation escalated when they visited their paediatrician. Nara vividly remembered the quietness and calmness exhibited by the doctor, a moment that filled her with dread. “My heart dropped in that moment,” she reflected. “Whether it was my gut telling me something or just a mum’s intuition, the first thing I felt was she has cancer.”
In response to their paediatrician’s recommendations, Lucky took Whimsy to a nearby children’s hospital for further tests, which included X-rays, ultrasounds, and ultimately a biopsy. The couple received an urgent call from the hospital, confirming the diagnosis of cancer and the pressing need for Whimsy to begin chemotherapy immediately.
In addition to Whimsy, Nara and Lucky are parents to three other children: Rumble Honey, 5, Slim Easy, 4, and newborn Fawnie Golden, who arrived in September 2025. Lucky is also a father to Gravity, his daughter with model Stormi Bree.
In her Instagram post, Nara expressed how the diagnosis has shaped her perception and interactions with other families facing similar challenges. She noted that sharing her journey has provided her with comfort and alleviated feelings of isolation. “Processing this and navigating all of this as a family has been really hard,” she admitted.
The influencer has also been candid about the impact of Whimsy’s illness on her day-to-day life, observing that her social media activity had decreased as a result. Nara explained, “A lot of you have probably realised that I’ve been posting a little less, and this is the reason why.” The combination of managing Whimsy’s treatment while caring for her other children and maintaining her work commitments has posed significant challenges.
Nara openly discussed her struggle with finding balance in her daily routine. She candidly stated, “Some days are a little easier, some days are really hard, and all I can do is try my best and show up in all those areas in the best way that I can.” Her honesty highlights the emotional toll of navigating motherhood while facing such a severe health crisis.
The influencer also hopes that by sharing her story, she can provide encouragement to others who may be grappling with their health concerns. “I hope it will bring others comfort and even incentivise you to go get something checked out that you’ve been avoiding,” Nara stated, emphasising the importance of being proactive about health issues.
As Nara and Lucky navigate this challenging period, the support of their followers and community has become increasingly vital. While their family faces difficulties ahead, the couple’s openness about their journey undoubtedly resonates with those who understand the challenges of parenting a child with a serious illness.
