A teacher from Mississippi is facing serious federal charges after allegedly using an artificial intelligence (AI) program to create child sex abuse material involving students. Wilson Jones, 30, is accused of producing videos featuring eight current and former students from the Corinth school district, aged between 14 and 16. The FBI affidavit obtained by PEOPLE stated that the videos depicted the students engaging in inappropriate behaviour such as kissing and exposing themselves. Shockingly, none of the students were aware of the existence of these videos.

The affidavit detailed the disturbing prompts Jones allegedly used to generate the videos, including instructions for the girls to pose in each other’s arms, kiss, and eventually undress and explore each other. The Corinth Middle School principal, Chris Killough, became aware of the videos in November when activity on Jones’ school-issued computer triggered a sexual alert. Upon review, it was discovered that Jones had created the videos using AI technology, although he claimed they were not sexual in nature. Furthermore, screenshots containing email user names and passwords of former students were found on Jones’ computer.
Following the discovery of the videos, Jones resigned from his position at the school, prompting questions about the delayed reporting of the incident. While the school district took action and reported the matter to the Mississippi Department of Education, concerns were raised about the timing of these actions.
