Sharon Stone, the renowned actress, was reportedly under consideration for a role in the movie ‘Another Simple Favor,’ alongside Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick, according to a source close to the film. On March 13, Stone, 67, made a comment on an Instagram post regarding E! News show Hot Goss, claiming that she had been cast in the sequel to 2018’s ‘A Simple Favor’ but was later let go unexpectedly, stating, “I LOVED being cast and removed from my role unexpectedly for no reason at all.” However, a source has refuted these claims, suggesting that Stone was never officially cast for the role.

Director Paul Feig apparently intended to cast Stone in the role of Blake Lively’s character’s mother as Jean Smart was not returning for the sequel. Unfortunately, due to financial considerations, they ultimately cast Elizabeth Perkins in the role instead. The source clarified that it was a matter of budget constraints rather than Stone being dropped from the project. “You have to be cast before you’re dropped. She was never cast,” the source added. Representatives for Stone were unavailable for immediate comment when contacted by PEOPLE.

In ‘Another Simple Favor,’ the anticipated comedy-mystery, Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick reprise their respective roles as Emily Nelson and Stephanie Smothers, portraying frenemies who reunite for Emily’s luxurious wedding on the picturesque island of Capri, Italy.
