A woman and her male accomplice have admitted to manslaughter following the poisoning deaths of two men in Oxfordshire. Adina Mihai, aged 31, and Madalin Dumitru, 30, appeared in court where they each pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including administering poison. The case stems from the tragic deaths of Gary Mouat, 37, and Malcolm King, 80, who were found dead in their residences.

The dangerous duo is said to have targeted vulnerable men seeking sexual services, advertising their services online. Over the course of a year, from August 2024 to July 2025, Mihai would engage with these men, sometimes under the guise of an escort. They reportedly took financial deposits before potentially deadly meetings at the victims’ homes.
According to a Thames Valley Police press release, Mihai would secretly spike the drinks of her victims with GBL, a substance that converts to GHB in the body, rendering them unconscious. This heinous tactic allowed the pair to rob the men while they were incapacitated.
Gary Mouat was discovered unresponsive in his home in Banbury on July 13, 2025. Initial investigations revealed that his alcoholic drink had been tampered with. In the aftermath of Mouat’s death, investigators broadened their inquiry into unusual fatalities, which led to a closer examination of Malcolm King’s case. King had passed away on August 21, 2024, with initial reports attributing his death to health complications.
Adding to the complexity of the case, Thames Valley Police found that there were additional victims who had encountered similar fates across southern England but fortunately survived. The information gleaned during the investigation against Mihai and Dumitru was crucial in bringing the case to light and preventing further harm to potential victims.
The authorities arrested both Mihai and Dumitru on July 31, 2025. As the investigation unfolded, it became increasingly clear to law enforcement that the situation warranted serious charges.
