Abhishek Kumar, Neelesh’s brother, confirmed that the families had recently come together to discuss wedding plans. “Anamika Samanta’s family visited our home to bless her upcoming marriage to Neelesh. We were looking forward to finalising the wedding details in Kolkata next week,” he conveyed in an interview.
The couple had developed a close bond over their years of collaboration at the animation centre, where they worked together. “Our families became acquainted after we learned about their relationship. We extended an invitation to Anamika’s family, who made the trip from Kolkata for the introduction. The engagement was agreed upon, and we were very much looking forward to the wedding,” Abhishek added, reminiscing about the family’s preparations.
Anamika’s younger brother, Akash Samanta, also shared his thoughts on the recent family gathering. “It’s heartbreaking that we had not met Neelesh’s family before this union was to take place. My sister had talked about him to our parents for a while, and I had been aware of their relationship for about six months. During our visit to Lucknow, we all felt optimistic about the plans ahead,” he said.
Tragically, the joy of their engagement turned to sorrow when Abhishek received a call from the local mortuary only hours after the fire. “We were aware of the fire, but we had no idea that Neelesh’s workplace was located within the same building,” he explained.
