Child, 10, Dies After Allegedly Drunk Mother Crashes UTV, Causing It to Roll Over

A tragic incident in Alaska has ended with the death of a 10-year-old child following a rollover accident involving a utility terrain vehicle (UTV). The accident occurred on Thursday, June 18, at around 6:35 p.m. local time in the Jim Creek Recreation Area, near Palmer, where local authorities were alerted to the overturned vehicle.

According to the Alaska State Troopers, five individuals were involved in the accident, including the driver, Hannah Lebel, 32, and four children, two of whom were her own. Initial investigations revealed that the vehicle was engaged in reckless driving, with Lebel allegedly navigating the UTV in and out of water to entertain the juvenile passengers with sprays of water.

While Lebel claimed that all four children were securely fastened with seatbelts, state troopers found that no one in the vehicle was wearing a seatbelt, as all front belts remained buckled following the accident.
