On June 17, 2026, Brown and members of his band participated in a special event held aboard the USS Midway Museum in San Diego. This gathering was significant, as it preceded the NASCAR San Diego Weekend, which began on June 19. “It’s such an honour to be back here,” Brown expressed, emphasising the historical significance of the USS Midway as a venue for celebrating military families and promoting the upcoming race.
The Veterans Day Classic will honour all six branches of the U.S. military, with Brown and his band set to perform alongside other artists. “This race is going to be truly special,” Brown remarked, indicating his enthusiasm for joining forces with Ford to amplify support for military personnel and their families. “It’s a chance to recognise the sacrifices made by these brave individuals, allowing us to pursue our American dreams.”
Brown’s connection to military service is deeply personal and began during his college years when he befriended several service members. His experiences also include sharing a living space with a Marine in Marietta, Georgia. This bond inspired the final verse of his hit song “Chicken Fried,” which honours fallen soldiers: “Salute the ones who died, the ones that give their lives, so we don’t have to sacrifice all the things we love.”
Having witnessed the sacrifices made by service members, Brown’s first USO tour was a life-changing experience. “Going overseas and seeing what they give up profoundly impacted me,” he recalled. In 2011, Brown established Camp Southern Ground in Fayetteville, Georgia, a facility devoted to serving veterans and youth. He finds immense satisfaction in hearing testimonials from those who have benefited from the camp’s programmes, including many who have gone on to work on staff. “It’s a rewarding journey,” he noted, highlighting the impact the camp has had on lives and families.
Growing up, Brown’s vision was to combine his passion for music with aiding others. He described himself as a “product of summer camps” and credited his clear goals at a young age for his success. “I’ve always known this is what I wanted to do, and it brings me joy to fulfil that dream, especially as it coincides with supporting those who protect us,” he said.
His philanthropic efforts also led him to meet his wife, Kendra Scott, a successful jewellery designer. They were introduced when Scott expressed interest in visiting Camp Southern Ground to see its initiatives. The couple shares a mutual passion for helping others and balancing their demanding careers. “It’s incredible to witness the impact we can have together,” Brown said.
Balancing their professional lives can be challenging for Brown and Scott, particularly with Brown’s upcoming Love & Fear tour starting on July 17. Yet, they remain committed to finding quality time together, understanding the unique pressures of their respective careers. “We might not be together as much as we would like, but it’s reassuring to know we found our person,” he explained, appreciating the synergy in their partnership.
