**Six Flags Over Texas to Unveil Record-Breaking Tormenta Rampaging Run This Month**

Arlington, Texas – Thrill-seekers and roller coaster enthusiasts alike have a reason to celebrate as Six Flags Over Texas prepares to launch the Tormenta Rampaging Run on Friday, June 26. This new ride is set to redefine the world of amusement parks, marking a significant milestone in both the park’s history and the broader landscape of roller coasters. The unveiling coincides with the park’s 65th anniversary, a fitting occasion for such a groundbreaking attraction.

This ambitious coaster is making headlines for its impressive array of records. Measuring a staggering 309 feet, it will claim the title of the tallest dive coaster in the world. According to park president Pete Carmichael, Tormenta Rampaging Run is destined to “forever change” the skyline of the Arlington area as well as the park’s roster of attractions.

In addition to its height and speed, Tormenta Rampaging Run boasts several other remarkable features. Riders will encounter the tallest vertical loop at 179 feet, a beyond-vertical drop of 285 feet, and an Immelmann inversion—an aerial twist reminiscent of a fighter jet manoeuvre—standing at 218 feet. These statistics place the ride in a league of its own, captivating thrill-seekers from near and far.

Thematically, the coaster draws its inspiration from Spain’s famed running of the bulls. It will be situated within a newly designed area called Rancho de la Tormenta, which aims to evoke the charm of a quaint Spanish village. Guests can expect a vibrant setting adorned with colourful banners and the sounds of lively Spanish music, all of which promise to provide an immersive experience that goes beyond the ride itself.

The park describes the town at the heart of Rancho de la Tormenta as having a rich history. Initially named after the storms that swept through its plains, the town transformed with the legend of a mighty bull known as “Tormenta.” This creature became synonymous with the town’s resilience and unmatched strength, further amplifying the thematic depth of the attraction.

Food enthusiasts will also find something to relish, as a new restaurant called Cocina Abuela will open its doors alongside the coaster. Drawing from Spanish and Latin American culinary traditions, the eatery will offer an array of classic dishes, including Spanish rice, papas bravas, chicken tinga, and house-made guacamole.

Construction on Tormenta Rampaging Run began in 2025, with crews achieving significant milestones by early 2026. The testing phase commenced in late May, and footage of the coaster was recently shared, building anticipation for its opening. The ride is a testament to the park’s commitment to innovation and quality entertainment.

As Six Flags Over Texas gears up for this monumental launch, the upcoming anniversary celebration will encompass additional entertainment options, enhanced food and beverage offerings, and various park improvements.
